  • Altar Society

    The Altar Society is responsible for the beautification and maintenance of the church interior, flowers, services, Mass books, linens, candles, Christmas decorations, etc. It also covers special requests from the pastor and passed by a majority of society members present. Money is raised thruogh various annual projects.

  • Cemetery Board

    This organization includes those who cover the general oversight and maintenance of St. Cecilia Cemetery, and also the fund allocation for its upkeep.

  • Choir
    Contact: Patrick Mason
    The adult choir leads the congregation in the singing and provides special choral music at Sunday 8:30 a.m. Mass and at major liturgies throughout the year. We want to help all members of the congregation sing as they should at Mass, and add to the beauty of our liturgies through song. Welcome are adults, high school age to senior citizen, who can carry a tune in a bucket, the choir being that bucket. Though very good singers are important and needed, the average singer is the backbone of our parish adult choir.

  • Communion for Sick

    This organization's members are responsible for bringing the Eucharist to the sick and homebound of the parish on Sundays, and conducting a Communion service at Regency Manor. Members must be an Extraordinary Minister at St. Cecilia parish.

  • Garden & Ground Crew
    Contact: Rita Funke
    The Garden & Ground Crew is an excellent opportunity for individuals, groups, and families with children of all ages to work together for the benefit of the parish. It is also an excellent opportunity for teens to earn service hours or families to earn parent partnership hours. All are welcome to join. Volunteers may adopt-a-spot to maintain regularly or help with seasonal tasks. Our volunteers rake leaves, pickup sticks, pull weeds, trip sidewalks, sweep porches and sidewalks, trim along fence lines and headstones, tend flower beds, spread mulch, and pick up litter. We occasionally need help with one time projects such as repairing picnic tables, painting railings and poles, refinishing park benches, and filling cracks in foundation.

  • Greeters, Ushers, Lectors, and Extraordinary Ministers

    These individuals assist in liturgical functions through greeting parishioners and guests before Mass and other sacred rites. They also care for parish stewardship through parishioners' collections during Mass.

  • Holy Name Society
    Contact: Dan Koch
    This Catholic men's organization is dedicated to the support of our parish in different capacities as called upon. The Holy Name Spociety holds dances, ham shoots, and other programs throughout the year that provide funds used to help the parish in a variety of programs and projects. We are always looking to increase our ranks to provide even greater service to our parish.

  • Knights of Columbus

    The Independence Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic gentlemen dedicated to the principles of Charity, Unity and Fraternity. The Knights serve in many aspects of parish life and welcome new members. Some activities the council involves itself are:
    • Promotion of life from conception to natural death
    • Financial support of seminarians and novices
    • Sunday Country Breakfasts to raise funds for various needs
    • Annual Family Dance - celebration of family
    • Promise for Life - a program of parish dedication to life
    • Social activities supporting fraternity within the organization

    Meetings are held on the second Thursday of every month in the Undercroft.

  • Parish Fellowship Committee
    Contact: Donna Schoreder
    This committee organizes after Mass fellowship and New Parishioner events. We need members willing to help set up and tear down for the fellowship events, as well as help the pastor provide parish fellowship and other events.

  • Primetimers
    Contact: Marietta Miller
    The Primetimers are people over 50 who meet and socialize. We have potluck picnics and anniversary dinners. We seek to keep in touch with each other, discuss the challenges of being a primetimer, and enjoy games, cards, bingo, and various trips. Anyone over 50 is welcome!

  • Pro-Life Committee

    The Pro-Life Committee, under the guidance of our Diocesan Pro-Life Office, is dedicated to a prayerful peaceful end to the horror of abortion. We strive to protect the innocent from abortion, infanticide, euthanasia, and other evil actions. The committee provides awareness and education programs inside and outside the parish. Everyone is needed to join us in ending this tragedy in our world.

  • St. Cecilia School Board of Total Education (BOTCE)
    Contact: Gerry Bergman
    The Board of Total Catholic Education is comprised of parishioners, the pastor, the CCD coordinator (or designee), and the principal. BOTCE is an advisory group that helps representatives work with the pastor and school authorities to share ideas and form policies for the betterment of Catholic education in the local parish. Representatives are self nominated and chosen by lot. Meetings are held on the third Wednesday of each month and are open to the public.

  • St. Cecilia School Parent Teacher Organization (PTO)
    Contact: Shelly Crowley
    This is an active parent organization, which raises funds for school-wide improvement projects and for items needed in the classrooms. Meetings are held four times during the school year and parents are encouraged to attend.

  • St. Vincent de Paul
    Contact: Bob Bergman
    The St. Vincent de Paul Society helps people in the are who have a material assistance need such as food or help paying utility bills. We need people willing to go on calls and talk to the people and help make decisions on what assistance they need.

  • Sports Committee
    Contact: Darrin McCaffrey
    The Sports Committee provides sports activities for any child who wants to participate no matter what their skill level. The Sports Committee offers soccer, basketball, and volleyball. Soccer is offered to any child, ages 3-15 years, parishioner or not. Basketball and volleyball are offered only to St. Cecilia School students. We are always looking for people willing to coach teams, assistant coach, and help with administration and soccer field maintenance.
