St. Cecilia Church - Catechesis

"Catechesis is an education in the faith of children, young people, and adults...with a view to initiating the hearers into the fullness of Christian life."

Catechism of the Catholic Church: 5, Catechesi tradendae 18

CCD - "Sharing Our Faith"

St. Cecilia Church Window
The Immaculate Conception

Instruction in faith and doctrine for children is conducted September to May for ages Kindergarten-8th grade, from 9:45 -10:45 a.m. (between the 8:30 and 11:00 a.m. Masses). Registered children may attend. Contact: Russ Connors, Russ@RussConnors.com.

The CCD staff helps parents teach the truths of Catholicism. They also help lead children to a deeper faith by fostering a desire in the children to pray and worship God.

If you are interested in becoming involved, the CCD program is seeking individuals and families committed to God's will as revealed in Jesus Christ and wanting to share their faith with children. Volunteer opportunities are available for catechist, parent guide, hospitality, catechist assistants. etc.

NOTE: During CCD classes, between Sunday Masses, adults are welcome to meet in the conference room in the Rectory basement for coffee and refreshments to watch video presentations of Fr. John Corapi's series on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Fr. Corapi is one of the most dynamic and sought after speakers in the Church. Bring your Catechism (copies will be available). Enter the conference room from the lower outside door to the Rectory basement, around to the right of the Rectory Office porch and doors.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Instruction in Catholic faith and doctrine for high school age through adult is conducted September through Easter Vigil for those interested in joining the Catholic Church, or for Catholic Christians seeking to learn more about their faith and who may attend some or all of the classes. Contact: Mary Lou Kaub, mrylou@fuse.net.

The aim of this instruction is love from a pure heart, a good conscience, and a sincere faith. --1 Timothy1:5
